Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan Sastra Inggris (HMJ SI) or The Association of English Department Students of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung annually holds several seminars with the main objective of improving students’ ability to face the challenges of the modern digital world. One of the activities that is highly appreciated is the writing seminar, which is specifically designed to equip students with writing skills that are relevant in a digital era dominated by the presence of artificial intelligence (AI). In this context, the presence of AI is considered a phenomenon that may threaten the position of human jobs, especially in the writing sector. However, HMJ SI has a different perspective. They believe that AI can be a great tool for improving the quality of writing. Therefore, HMJ SI has invited several experts in the utilization of AI for writing purposes to a seminar titled “Writing by Using AI as an Assistant.”.
In this event, participants were not only taught about various AI techniques and tools that can improve efficiency in the writing process but also directed to see AI as a helpful partner in achieving better writing standards. Thus, HMJ SI hopes that this seminar will not only provide an in-depth understanding of the role of AI in modern writing but will also open up a new perspective on how technology can be used to enhance creativity and productivity in the world of literature and writing.
